Jing Hao (Jackson Yee) is only twenty years old and has to support his younger sister, Jing Tong (Chen Halin). The siblings move to Shenzhen where they lead simple comfortable lives but are often cash-strapped. When Jing Tong requires expensive surgery, Jing Hao has a stroke of luck and stumbles upon an opportunity. Just as he thinks that a better life for both of them is imminent, he unexpectedly suffers heavy losses. Under the dual pressure of time and money, with his back against the wall, Jing Hao decides to risk everything. Can his ordinary life filled with predicaments, yet bolstered by his perseverance, ignite a spark of hope?
The film is noted as a dedication to the centenary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party in 2021. It is directed by Wen Muye whose 2018 full-length feature debut was the award-winning box office hit, Dying to Survive. Lead actor, Jackson Yee, is well-known for his role in the Oscar-nominated romance thriller, Better Days. Other cast members include Wang Chuanjun (Dying to Survive), Tian Yu (Warm Hug) and Qi Xi (So Long, My Son).
